Dingyi Zhuang is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at TikTok, where he develops time-series forecasting and agentic AI systems for supply-chain optimization. He received his Ph.D. in Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), advised by Prof. Jinhua Zhao, and was a member of the UrbanAI Lab.

His research focuses on three main areas: AI Agents and Foundation Models, including agentic systems, recursive self-improvement, and multimodal reasoning; Intelligent Transportation and Autonomous Systems, including spatiotemporal learning and autonomous driving; and Trustworthy AI, including uncertainty quantification, reliability, calibration, and fairness. His work applies AI and machine learning techniques to transportation, urban planning, and complex decision-making systems.

Dingyi received his M.Eng. from McGill University under the supervision of Prof. Lijun Sun and his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University under the supervision of Prof. Jiangang Jin. He also conducted research at the National University of Singapore (NUS) under Prof. Lee Der-Horng. His previous research experience includes the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence, Morgan Stanley’s Machine Learning Research Team, and the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART).
