Overview: Rapid progress in artificial intelligence and robotics has raised opportunities for machines helping people. This project develops soft robots for manipulation operations, building on bodies of work investigating human-machine interaction for cognitive tasks and for physical tasks.

Overview: This project addresses the science and engineering of developing few shot learning models, with the aim of reducing the data required to train machine learning models and the size of the models.

Overview: Human capital is one of the largest drivers of global economic productivity. This project seeks to develop a theory of human reinforcement learning and design an AI-assisted decision system to build human capital at three scales: individual, employer and government.

Overview: This project seeks to design self-enhancing dynamics between human and machine intelligence with a synergetic deep network theory to spur economic growth, creativity, and well-being for Singapore.

Overview: To dramatically rethink how people and machines will work together in the future, we need a stronger scientific and technological foundation for designing human-computer groups. The goal of this project is to provide such a foundation for creating innovative new ways people and AI systems can work together.

T7. Human Workers and Resource Allocation Optimization

Overview: This project concerns the design of human-machine systems for the scheduling and allocation of valuable resources in ways that accommodate and optimize for the needs and capabilities of both humans and machines; it uses the stand allocation process at Changi airport as a paradigm of a broad set of other potential application contexts.
