Dr. Ila Gokarn is a former Postdoctoral Associate at SMART M3S, where her work focused on the intersection of embodied AI, machine perception, and edge computing for next-generation immersive workplaces. She earned her PhD in Computer Science from Singapore Management University under the supervision of Prof. Archan Misra, with research on criticality-aware edge AI for multi-sensor visual perception.

Prior to her PhD, she worked as a Software Systems Engineer at Arista Networks and Cisco Systems, where she gained experience in cloud automation, edge computing, and IoT for Industry 4.0.

Dr. Gokarn is currently working at the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) in Singapore, contributing to the development of the national ecosystem for Embodied AI and Quantum Communications, including use-case development, industry-academia partnerships, and research-to-product translation.
