Dr. Ila Gokarn is a Postdoctoral Associate at SMART M3S, working at the intersection of embodied AI, machine perception, and edge computing, for next-generation immersive workplaces. Ila holds a PhD in Computer Science from Singapore Management University where she was advised by Prof. Archan Misra. Previously, she was a Software Systems Engineer with Arista Networks and Cisco Systems, with client-facing technical experience in cloud automation, edge computing, and IoT ecosystems for Industry 4.0.

Ila’s PhD research focused on criticality-aware edge AI optimisations for multi-sensor machine visual perception. Her current work extends this paradigm of criticality awareness to optimise Perception-Cognition-Communication-Action tasks for resource-constrained embodied agents.
