Siqi Ku

PhD Student

Ku Siqi is currently a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) and is conducting joint doctoral research at the National University of Singapore (NUS) under the China Scholarship Council (CSC) program. She is also a Visiting Student at the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART), working with the Mens, Manus and Machina (M3S) research group. Her research interests include mechanical systems, control, robotics, embodied intelligence, and continuum robotics.

With a background in mechanical engineering and intelligent control, Siqi's research has focused on adaptive mechanical systems, ultrasonic devices, and learning-based control. She is the first author of the paper “A Self-adaptive Ultrasound Patch for Transcranial Multimodal Dynamic Focusing,” published in Ultrasonics in 2026. She also presented her work, “Precision Speed Control of Ultrasonic Motors Under Thermal Disturbance: A Dual-Framework for Accurate Modeling and Stable Reinforcement Learning,” at the 9th International Conference on Vibration Engineering (ICVE 2025) in Nanjing, China.

Her current research focuses on embodied intelligence and robotic manipulation. At SMART, she is working on VLA-based control for continuum robotic systems, with an emphasis on integrating vision-language-action models with robotic perception, decision-making, and control. He also has ongoing research on learning-based robotic control, with related work currently under review.
