Wei Xiao is a Nanyang Assistant Professor at the NTU School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Singapore. His research focuses on robotics, artificial intelligence, and autonomous systems. He is also a Principal Investigator at SMART and a Research Affiliate with MIT CSAIL.
Prior to joining NTU, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Robotics Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), where he founded and led the Safe Autonomy and Intelligence / AI Lab (SAIL). Before his faculty appointment at WPI, he was a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT CSAIL from 2021 to 2025, conducting research in robotics, artificial intelligence, and autonomous systems.
