Dr Vicky Charisi is a Research Scientist at the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology working on Human-AI Interaction with a focus on embodied AI and Human-Robot Interaction. Her work integrates research on:

(i) the impact of AI on human development at an individual, organizational and societal level,

(ii) the design of AI systems, and

(iii) the support of evidence-based policy making.

Vicky received her Ph.D. on Human-Computer Interaction and creativity from the UCL, Institute of Education, and she holds a position as a Research Fellow at Harvard University, Berkman Klein Centre for Internet and Society.

Previously, she worked as a Scientific Officer at the European Commission, Joint Research Centre and for the implementation of her work, she has established collaborations with industry (e.g. HONDA Research Institute, Japan) and international organizations (e.g. UN, OECD and IEEE SA).

She serves as a chair in multiple advisory boards (e.g. IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, Cognitive and Developmental Systems, TF HRI, UN Centre for AI and Robotics etc.) and has published more than 60 academic papers and reports.
