Associate Professor of Computing and Information Systems, SMU

Hai Wang

Dr. WANG Hai is an Associate Professor in the School of Computing and Information Systems at Singapore Management University and a visiting faculty at the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. He received B.S. from Tsinghua University and Ph.D. in Operations Research from MIT.  His research focuses on analytics and optimization, data-driven decision-making, machine learning, and their applications in smart cities, transportation, logistics, and healthcare systems.


Dr. Wang serves as Secretary for INFORMS Transportation Science and Logistics Society, Associate Editor for Transportation Science and Service Science, Editorial Board Member/Guest Editor for Transportation Research Part B/C/E, and chairs the INFORMS TSL Best Dissertation Award and Data-Driven Research Challenge. Dr. Wang is listed as World's Top 2% Scientists by Stanford/Elsevier, selected as Chan Wu & Yunying Rising Star Fellow in transportation and mobility, Lee Kong Chian Research Excellence Award, and Teaching Excellence Award and nominees at both MIT and SMU. During his Ph.D., he also served as the co-president of the MIT Chinese Students & Scholars Association and Chair of the MIT-China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum.
